Luck Favors the Prepared

Chance (fortune) favors the prepared mind
- Louis Pasteur

In business, they say you must plan, then execute, break it down, and plan for contingencies. If you don’t have a well thought out plan, why are you doing it? Planning might involve stating the goal (what you really want), determining the resources that are required (what’s crucial, and if we really need all that other stuff), understanding the risks, and being OK with the commitment required. It may mean coming together as a team and developing a leadership.

I do a lot of planning before a big climb. However, I believe preparing the mind is the most important element. You’ll never be fully ready and perfect. To prepare for success just means being the person you need to be  to take action and not hesitating when opportunities present themselves.
