Daniel Stih
Stih has a varied background including being a CEO of businesses, consulting, engineering, exploration, writing, and speaking. He began his career as a teenager, when he and his brothers founded Sun Laboratorys in the laundry room of their parent’s home using laboratory equipment donated from the university. He later acquired a degree in Aerospace Engineering and worked at Motorola when the company was awarded the Malcolm Baldrige Award for outstanding leadership and management practices. He was the top computer expert, developing software for machines to communicate with each other. One of the processes he was responsible for, Boron tri-chloride (BCl3), is used by the solar panel industry.
After he left semiconductor he ended up working in construction. He had so much work he didn’t know what to do with it. Then one day he started to get sick and tired all the time. He realized there are a lot of people who are sick because of their home or office, and began to test homes to find out what is (and what is not) bad for your health. Based on his research he wrote Healthy Living Spaces: Top 10 Hazards Affecting Your Health. He’s a member of the International Association of Innovative Professionals.
Stih has been a consultant to the Dyson corporation, taught classes for the National Kitchen and Bath Association, and developed courses for mold inspectors and remediators in the State of Florida. He partnered with Los Alamos National Laboratories to study products used to treat mold, and published, Mold Money: How to Save Thousands of Dollars on Mold Remediation and Make Sure the Mold is Gone.
Stih may be best known for his climbs in Zion National Park where he has done the first ascents of thirty previously unclimbed mountains. He discovered a process that can be used to find and do what’s never been done. Stih enjoys teaching this process and inspiring people to take action to create positive change in their lives. He’s written a total of twelve books and been a guest on hundreds of radio and television shows.
Under the pydonymmn Daniel Isle Sky, he is a singer-songwriter with five CDs and can be heard on streaming platforms such as Spotify and Pandora. He has performed with Donovan.
Daniel feels the competitive world today is limiting what humanity is capable of by stressing extreme specialization at work and school. It may be more productive to be well-rounded, a hat he refers to as being a “Renaissance” person. Leonardo da Vinci was a designer, artist, engineer, and scientist. Stih will never be da Vinci or Donovan and doesn’t aspire to be. He considers those already taken and likes to live by the saying, “Be yourself.”
