Although it’s generally a good idea to plan for your future and consider the options as thoroughly as possible, for some ventures, this might not be possible. That should not stop you from starting. Not having a backup plan is a sure way to inspire you to keep going. The music business is an example. Many successful musicians and songwriters will tell you if they had a backup plan, they would not have made it — they would have used that backup plan. It’s easier to take the backup plan when you’re a starving artist.
