Rather than debate a question, I ran a simple experiment.
Samples were exposed to:
• electric fields
• magnetic fields
• RF exposure
• grounding
• a control condition
One observation stood out: samples exposed to electric fields showed higher growth than the other conditions.
Does that prove EMFs cause mold growth?
No.
The experiment had limitations, including sample size and variability inherant with air sampling in general. Moisture remains the dominant factor in mold growth. Mold cannot grow without water.
What interested me most wasn't the results. It was how easy it may be to over interpret them. When a secondary variable appears in data, people often rush to explain it. They may even build an entire theory around it.
A single observation doesn't establish causation. Good experiments don't always produce answers. They help us understand what questions remain.
That's why I enjoy running experiments. They're less about proving a belief, and more about testing assumptions.
