A common assumption is that hydrogen peroxide “kills mold.”
I wanted to see what actually happens.
In partnership with Los Alamos National Laboratory, I designed and conducted experiments examining the effects of hydrogen peroxide on mold growth and structure.
What was interesting is that the visible result and the biological reality were not the same.
The mold often turned brown after treatment, creating the appearance that something significant had happened visually. Appearance does not answer the deeper question: What problem was solved?
One of the recurring patterns I see in many industries is that people confuse:
- visual change with resolution
-detection with risk
- treatment with effectiveness.
That’s why testing assumptions matters.
