Do EMFs affect mold growth?

Rather than debate the question, I decided to run a simple experiment.

Samples were exposed to:

• electric fields
• magnetic fields
• RF exposure
• grounding
• a control condition

One observation stood out: samples exposed to electric fields showed higher growth than the other conditions.

Does that prove EMFs cause mold growth?

No.

The experiment had important limitations, including sample size and natural variability. Moisture remains the dominant factor in mold growth—mold cannot grow without water.

What interested me most wasn't the result itself.

It was how easy it would be to over interpret it.

When a secondary variable appears in the data, people often rush to explain it. Sometimes they build an entire theory around it.

A single observation doesn't establish causation.

Good experiments don't just produce answers - They help us understand what questions still remain.

That's one reason I enjoy running experiments. They're often less about proving a belief and more about testing assumptions.
